Bathroom re-furbishment Surrey

A young couple from Surrey wanted their out-of-date bathroom modernised and made into a more spacious functional room.

Before

The bathroom has no window and and felt very small and dark. The bath was 1600mm and the shower was a 'dribble' off the taps! A large bulky toilet and old wooden shelves on the wall, left the couple desperate for a bathroom makeover.

What we did

After stripping out the old bathroom suite we were able to discuss options for maximising the space whilst making sure we stayed within budget. The couple's requirements were very clear. They wanted a full size bath - a power shower and an overall modern tidy appearance.

Freshwater removed the existing soil stack and re-routed the pipe work for the bath. We ran new pipe work for a shower at the opposite end of the bath and installed a shower pump underneath. We boxed in all the visible pipe work and the couple chose a small, but very effective designer towel rail.

The end result

The look was finished with bright grey tiles and a vertical darker tile with chrome strip elongates the central wall making it look bigger - matching 'sparkle' effect floor tiles with tiled upstands looks more streamlined and coordinated. The illuminated mirror over the wash basin is the central focus of the bathroom and gives a further illusion of space and light. And all within their budget!
